What makes this party special?
Come one, come all and see some of the same people that you see all year round at our parties, with a few special guests spattered on top of the usual suspects.
So…. This seems like a cool party, but why is Squee doing such a straightforward psy party up here, is he losing his edge? Sure, I am gonna go, cuz it’s the only psy going on that night, but jeeze, Squee, I wish I had a little more to be excited about here….
Well… since you guys are asking these questions, I would love to illuminate all y’all.
There is a plan for this event which, in my opinion, may create a transcendental musical and dance experience, and in a way that at least I have never seen done before.
Imagine if you will… 5 – 8 Laptops on stage at all times. Imagine that, even though Freaks of Nature is playing right now, Malaclypse Kevin is up there too, pushing some buttons and obviously doing something…. AND OOOH LOOK, here comes Squee, and he is pushing buttons too… I don’t know exactly what they are all doing, but they seem to be doing it together. Now, Manifest walks out in front of the speakers and FaceHead Chuck mosies up and starts pushing knobs while Squee, Malaclypse, and Jeffrey keep playing. Hours later, Facehead Chuck is dj’ing and gets tagged out after only 20 minutes of his set, to be replaced by Manifest, to soon be replaced by Squee, to be replaced by Kevin…
Are you there? Do you see what is going on?
The INTENTION of this party is a stream of musical consciousness, brought to you by Squee, Malaclypse, Manifest, Jeffrey, FaceHead, Ghreg on Earth, and maybe more. The Intention is that we are in a head space to be constantly working together and creating music live together. With as many as 7 people making sounds all together, all matched up, banging psytrance synergetics.
These synergetics will go beyond the live set; the dj sets, too, should be moving throughout the night, people tagging each other in and out like wrestlers in a cage match.
This party is about MUSIC, it is about the love of MUSIC. There will not be tons of frills. I have spoken with Broose about doing a small Bitchin’ Kitchen and have mentioned to Zach the urge to have him set up for the party. There are some new ideas for this as well, but realize that this is a music party.
Some or all of the profit for the event will be going to Goa Gil 2008, including the profits from the Bitchen Kitchen.
Ghreg on Earth is confirmed, and I am working on one more extremely special guest. I am working hard to secure copies of recent releases to be sold at the event as well.
Some of the gnitty gritties are still getting worked on. I am still pondering the price of the party, it will be at least $10. I am also working on land for the party. Looking for renegade spot to save on price of the party, but need a spot that can handle a fair amount of people and sound.
Get excited! If this happens the way I see it in my head, this will definitely be a party to go crazy at!
